New Roof Flashings, Westpac Bank, Wonthaggi

Project Overview

Westernport Plumbing installed new roof flashings on the Westpac Bank building in Wonthaggi.

Flashings are the detail that decides whether a commercial roof leaks. They seal every junction where the roof meets something else, including parapet walls, penetrations and changes in roof plane. When flashings fail, water gets in at those junctions long before the roof sheeting itself is anywhere near the end of its life. On a main street building in a coastal town like Wonthaggi, salt air accelerates that process considerably.

Our Approach

Flashings were fabricated and installed to suit the existing roof, with laps and upstands detailed to shed water properly rather than hold it. Working on an occupied commercial building on a main street means the job is planned around access, safety and keeping disruption to the tenant and the public to a minimum.

All work completed by a fully licensed plumber, Lic No. 43406.
