Project Overview
Westernport Plumbing carried out the drainage installation for a veterinary clinic in Wonthaggi.
Vet clinics put more demand on a drainage system than most commercial buildings. Wash-down areas, floor wastes through treatment rooms, regular disinfectant use and animal waste solids all need to be planned for properly at installation, not fixed later. A system that isn’t designed around how the practice actually operates becomes a recurring blockage problem within a few years.
Our Approach
We set the drainage out to achieve consistent falls across the building, positioned inspection openings so future maintenance access is straightforward, and carried out the trench excavation with our own plant. Handling the excavation work in-house meant no waiting on a subcontractor between stages — the trench was opened, the drainage laid and inspected, and the ground reinstated as one continuous sequence.
All work was completed to AS/NZS 3500.2 by a fully licensed plumber, Lic No. 43406.
